The ESAB Group  -  Global Leader in Welding Equipment & Supplies
Assisted in the development and execution of a brand consolidation strategy for North America. Also completed end-user attitude, awareness and usage research in both the United States and Canada. Provided new product direction for two equipment categories via product optimization research with purchase decision makers. Additionally, guidance was provided in the selection and management of ESAB's public relations and advertising agencies.

Heinz Pet Products  -  Fortune 500 Pet Food Treat Manufacturer
Retained and managed outside research and development resources in the creation of eight innovative prototype products for a previously refined concept/positioning statement. Completed initial consumer research study as a "first screening" of the various product platforms covered by the prototypes. Also served as a resource in identifying and evaluating potential acquisition candidates.

Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Virginia  -  Leading Health Care Provider
Designed and completed consumer research to identify reasons for lagging sales and test alternative solutions. Discussion groups included purchasers of BC/BS policies, purchasers of policies from a predetermined list of competitors and non-purchasers. The resulting data led to changes in the BC/BS advertising, telemarketing, promotional materials and sales procedures.

Gimborn US  -  German-Owned Pet Supplies Manufacturer
Retained to analyze the U.S. supermarket pet treat industry and recommend an entry strategy for Gimborn's super-premium pet treats. Utilized secondary source data and primary research to prepare a detailed profile of the industry, the current competitive situation and opportunities for entry into the category. Recommendations included products to be offered, pricing strategy, packaging form/graphics, brand positioning, target account profiles and all other elements of the sales/marketing mix.

Grainnovation Inc.  -  Privately Held Processor of Extruded Grain Products
Conducted trade reconnaissance at major food shows to keep management appraised of current trends/developments. Additionally provided new business direction; e.g. target accounts, new applications, competitive introductions, key contacts, etc...

Single Spirit Corporation  -  Marketer of Products/Services to Singles
Wrote the strategic business plan the owner used to secure initial capital investment to launch the company. The plan was praised by numerous investors, resulting in the securing of the desired funding from two businessmen in Atlanta.
